Cirque du Soleil (English, “Circus of the Sun” or “Sun Circus”) is a Montreal-based entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world.

The business needs was to define a Data Governance framework and road-map for the organization, as creating a proof of concept that uses artificial intelligence to improve their customers and users experience.

In this context I was charged to:

• Define and design a data governance framework
• Define a Big Data strategy / vision and a road-map that meet business  needs
• Evangelize Big Data / Machine Learning / Advanced Analytics technologies  and act as a Big Data Advisor
• Design a PoC architecture that collect IoT sensors data in order to run machine learning algorithms on these data

In collaboration with the data manager, I helped define the Data Governance strategy. This part of the project is to ensure that high data quality exists throughout the complete life cycle of the data, and data controls are implemented that support business objectives.

For the second part of the project which consisted in implementing a Proof of Concept.

I used Microsoft Cognitive Services to implement this PoC in order to detect different objects in video stream and/or recorded videos of the shows.
