The Log660 course, at ETS introduce advanced concepts on the analysis, design and implementation of complex applications using high performance databases (DB) in software engineering.
Topics covered in the course include modeling complex relationships and designing effective relational databases, paradigms of transparent persistence and non-relational databases, in-memory data management and performance optimization, transaction management concurrent and disaster recovery, data warehouses and business intelligence, as well as parallel and distributed DBs.
As an external speaker, I introduce the key concepts of NoSQL databases and the key characteristics of Big Data to the students of this course.
