McGill University is a public research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by royal charter granted by King George IV, the university bears the name of James McGill, a Scottish merchant whose bequest in 1813 formed the university’s precursor, University of McGill College (or simply, McGill College); the name was officially changed to McGill University in 1885.
The McGill University School of Continuous Studies created the ‘Professional Development Certificate in Data Science and Machine Learning’
The ‘YCBS 257, Data at Scale (6 CEUs)’ is part of the Professional Development Certificate.
I was hired to teach the YCBS 257 Data at Scale module.
YCBS 257, Data at Scale provides an overview of various aspects of large data sets and how they are managed both on site and in the Cloud. Emphasis on hands-on experience from data ingestion to analysis of large data sets, both data-at-rest and data-in-motion (streaming data), including defining Big Data and its 5 V’s: Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and Value.
